VICUSdt researches to reduce noise impact in industrial plants.

VICUSdt takes a further step in the searching for the energetic efficiency for industrial processes and machines. This time, the company focuses on the field of acoustics, and particularly in acoustics of axial flow fans.
The engineers working in VICUSdt, who are specialists in the use of the most advanced numerical computation tools, are doing numerical simulations to minimize the noise generated by axial flow fans that are used in industrial applications.
Axial flow fans are machines that can move large volumes of air at low or medium pressure in a wide range of industrial processes. These machines are mainly designed taking into account the geometric constraints of the installation and their operating conditions, but unfortunately for the workers, the noise generated during the working operation does not usually take part of the design. Hence the importance of this pioneering study, which shows again the concern of VICUSdt with the improvement of machinery affecting the working conditions quality.
The process of minimizing the noise impact occurs in two stages. The first one is the detection of noise sources: those ones caused by the turbulent flow characteristics and those ones generated by the blades frequency and its harmonics (these sources are calculated using aerodynamic simulation and acoustic analogy algorithms). Secondly, the implementation of geometric changes of the whole is carried out, to displace or diminish the intensity of the sources without altering the operating conditions required.
